Miercurea-Ciuc city was formed in the vicinity of existing settlements: Şumuleu (1333), and Jigodin Topliţa-Ciuc (sec. XII-XII.) place where fairs are held on Wednesdays - from where comes the name of the city. Other cities: Szekelyudvarhely Gheorgheni Cristuru Secuiesc Tusnad, Topliţa Borsec, Balan, Vlachs.
