Ioanid Park

Ioanid Park, or Ion Voicu Park, is a Park in Bucharest, Sector 2, established on the former tributary of Dambovita, Bucurestioara. In 1870, the land owned by the bookseller Ioanid, drained, and the owner decided to arrange it as a park, planting in this regard, several trees on the swampy land. The park was designed after the pattern of English Square and French Parks (Monceanu Park). The name of the park was changed in 2003 to Ion Voicu Park, to honour the memory of the violinist Ion Voicu, father of the politician Madalin Voicu.
