First stable theater of romanian expression from Bessarabia, was founded October 10, 1920 at the initiative of a group of local leaders of public life led by Sergiu T. Nita, Minister of Bessarabia in the Romanian government. National Theater performances have won audience at prestigious festivals: Festival "I.L. Caragiale" Bucharest, 1993, 1994, the European School Theater Festival, Fair Mures, 1994 Comedy Festival Bucharest, 1995; Festival "A.P. Cehov " Moscow, May 1998 and more.
