In a picturesque forest area, only 40km north - west of Chisinau, liesCapriana Convent – one of the oldest in Moldova (1429). For a long period of time it was the headquarters of Moldova’s bishop. It was founded by great Moldovan Rulers such as Stefan the Great.

In 1678 in a forest at the source of the Cogalnic river (about 55 km West of Chisinau) the great High steward Mihai Hincu at request of his daughter founded a convent of nuns, which she entered. The convent was named Parascheva. The wooden churches and cells were often destroyed by the Tartar invasions during the XVIIth c., and the "St. Parascheva" monastery remained uninhabited. In 1835 a stone church was built in a Russian-Byzantine style for the summer period. Later, in 1841, came a church for the winter season.

It is situated 70 km north-west of Chisinau. The community of monks appeared in this area for the first time in 1740. Later some wooden churches and cells were built. The first half of the XIX c. was a flourishing period for the Hirjeuca Convent. It was surrounded by lakes, fountains and paths in a well designed park.

Rudi Monastery also known as Rughi Monastery is located on the bunch of the Nistru River, at the distance of 15 km from Otaci town. It is a friary. In 1777, with the blessing of bishop Inochentie from Husi (1752 – 17820) a Moldovan style stone temple celebrating Holy Trinity festival was funded. It was built on the estate of brothers Andronachi and Teodor Rudea with the financial support of the noble man Donciu from Mavilau (Podolia).

Situated near the locality with the same name, Tipova Monastery is one of the oldest monasteries in the Republic of Moldova. The monastery is spaded in stone on the bunch of Nistru River. 
The monastic complex portrays an image of an impressive museum. Between Blanaritei and Valea – Satului streams demolishment of an old town are cherished. The demolishment represent an old town of Gets tribes inhabitants existing BC. Tipova River is flowing down the Nistru River, it forms various waterfalls attaining 10 – 16 meters length.

Curchi monastery is a monk monastery from Moldova, one of the most important architectural monuments of Basarabia. It is located in Forest Orhei near the village Curchi, Orhei. As architectural ensemble was founded in XVIII - XIX. It is composed of five churches, two buildings with cells, the abbot, several auxiliary rooms, orchard, a hermitage with xenodochium Monastery located at 500 m and a stone basin

The history of the monastery began in 1804. Efrem Iurco – a widower who wanted to become a monk came from Oliscani village to Frumoasa Monastery. Other three heromonks: Serafim, Ionachie, Macarie and friar Anatasie followed him. They were passing their days in praying at this same monastery.

Cosauti monastery is a place of monks, destroyed many times by the Turk invasions. The old church was kept until XIX century. In the place of the old monastery remained only a few rocks with inscriptions and a box decorated with icons and candles. The reconstruction of the monastery began in the 90s of XX century from the northern side, opposite the original settlement.

Japca Monastery The first recorded date of the hermitage goes back to 1693, when the monks lived in the inside cells and held religious services in the church, which was also inside caves. In 1770 the monks moved out to the current monastery. It was a period of a new construction style and increasing wealth. A rich library was founded too. At the beginning of the XIX th c. stone churches were built as well. The most important church of the convent was frequently rebuilt, thus now having three altars: Resurrection, Transfiguration, and Crucifixion. Visitors are very impressed by the traditions that still prevail within the community.
